Khrabrovo airport opens a classic vehicle exhibition

On Thursday, January 16, 2020, Kaliningrad international airport (Khrabrovo) named after Empress Elizabeth of Russia opened a display exhibition of vintage vehicles. The exhibition was organized by AuroRetroClub INPO. It showcased 7 cars and 4 motorcycles of different years and countries of production. The vehicles were exhibited on the first floor of the central hall of the terminal.

The oldest presented car was Hanomag Sturm, 1936 (Germany). This car has fascinating history: it started its way back in Königsberg, witnessed war, became a trophy and came back to the city, which it had left more than 80 years ago. And now it’s in full swing: films, exhibition, festivals.

Other representatives of German car industry were Mercedes 110 200 D, 1965, and Mercedes 115 200 D, 1973.

Citroën 2CV, 1965 (France), was also exhibited. This was one of the most manufactured vehicles in the history of car industry with 9 million 2CVs. The exhibited model was imported into the Kaliningrad region in 1989 and became one of the first foreign cars in the region.

Russian cars were represented by a Moskvitch M-407, 1960 – one of the most popular Soviet cars. It even has three monuments in Russia – in Belgorod, Rybinsk and Tomsk.

And, of course, there was the Soviet classic, legendary GAZ 21. Two models of GAZ 21 were exhibited – 1963 and 1964 versions. The first one was grey and the second one – tiffany blue. The cars have incredible history.

Motorcycles were also presented at the exhibition. Among them – IZH 350, 1951, YAWA 350-638, 1988, Kovrovets К-125, 1951 and Kovrovets К-175, 1960.

Classic vehicle exhibition at Khrabrovo airport will be open until March 13, 2020.
