Baggage Allowance

The passenger’s baggage is accepted for transportation upon its registration at the departure airport, transfer airport, stop airport or other check-in point.

The passenger of the aircraft has the right to carry his / her baggage within the established rate without additional payment (hereinafter referred to as the free baggage allowance).

Norms for free baggage allowance including carry-on luggage, are set by the carrier depending on the type of aircraft and cannot be less than 10 kilograms per passenger.

The carrier is obliged to accept baggage for transportation within the limits of the free baggage allowance.

Excess baggage, oversized baggage and heavy baggage are accepted for carriage only if the aircraft has free capacity and if the passenger pays for the carriage of such baggage, except when the carriage of such baggage was agreed with the carrier and paid for when booking.

If the passenger has baggage with weight and / or size smaller than what had been booked and prepaid for carriage, the difference in payment for the carriage between the booked and the actual weight and / or baggage size is to be returned to the passenger.

The passenger has the right to declare the value of his checked baggage.

The value of the checked baggage is declared separately for each piece of baggage.

For transportation of the baggage with declared value, a fee is charged the amount of which is set by the carrier.

Payment for the carriage of the baggage with declared value is certified by miscellaneous charge order or a receipt for the payment of excess baggage which indicates the points between which the passenger has declared the baggage with declared value.

If passengers travel in groups, then, at the request of passengers, the carrier is obliged to apply the amount of free baggage allowance for each of the passengers.

Combining concerns only the norms of free baggage allowance. The baggage is registered individually for each passenger.

Each item of the checked baggage must have good packing ensuring its safety during transportation and handling and excluding the possibility of damage to passengers, crew members, third parties, damage to the aircraft, baggage of other passengers or other property.

The baggage that does not comply with the requirements of this clause is not allowed to be transported.

The baggage with external damages that do not affect its safety during transportation and handling and cannot harm passengers, crew members, third parties, damage to the aircraft, other passengers’ baggage or other property can be accepted for transportation as checked baggage with consent of the carrier. In this case, the existence and type of damage are confirmed by the passenger’s signature.

It is not recommended for the passenger to put fragile and perishable items, banknotes, jewellery, precious metals, securities and other valuables, business documents, keys and other similar items in his checked baggage.

The weight of one place of the checked baggage should not exceed 50 kilograms.

The passenger’s checked baggage must be transported on the same aircraft on which the passenger is travelling.

Things the weight and dimensions of which are set by the carrier and allow them to be safely placed in the cabin of the aircraft are accepted as a carry-on bag.

The passenger has the right to carry the following things above the established rate of free baggage allowance and without charging if they are kept about the passenger and not put into the baggage:

  • a handbag or a briefcase;
  • a folder for papers;
  • an umbrella;
  • a walking stick;
  • a bouquet of flowers;
  • outerwear;
  • printed publications for in-flight reading;
  • baby food for the child during the flight;
  • a cellular phone;
  • a camera;
  • a camcorder;
  • a laptop;
  • a costume in a garment bag;
  • a baby cradle when transporting the child;
  • crutches, stretchers or a wheelchair when carrying a passenger with reduced mobility.

The things specified in this paragraph are not presented for weighing, are not subject to registration and are not marked with tags.

Transportation of oversized baggage, heavy baggage, pets and birds, with the exception of guide dogs accompanying a visually impaired passenger is paid at the rates set by the carrier.

Transportation of the said baggage is paid based on its actual weight according to the tariffs established by the carrier, regardless of the passenger`s other things being transported as the baggage.

In the event of a forced lowering of the class of service, the passenger has the right to carry the baggage at the rate of free baggage allowance established for the paid class of service.

The baggage the weight, the number of items, the size, the packing or the contents of which do not comply with the requirements of international treaties of the Russian Federation, this Regulation, other regulatory legal acts of the Russian Federation, the laws of the country to, from or through whose territory the baggage is carried, or the rules of the carrier is not allowed to be transported.

From the time the checked-in baggage has been handed over for carriage and until it is delivered, the passenger’s access to the checked baggage is prohibited, except for the cases of its identification or additional inspection by the relevant authorized services.

The things which can damage the aircraft, persons or the property on board the aircraft, animals and birds (excluding house animals (birds)), insects, fish seed, reptiles, rodents, pests, experimental and sick animals as well as objects and substances whose air transportation as baggage is prohibited by the legislation of the Russian Federation, international treaties of the Russian Federation, as well as legislation of the country to, from or through whose territory the transportation is carried out are not allowed to be transported by air transport as baggage.
